Is comedian Matt Lucas looking to forge a career in Hollywood?
The Little Britain star, 36, is house-hunting in Los Angeles but insists he is only buying to escape the British weather.
‘It gets very cold in the UK and, in case you’ve not noticed, I’m bald,’ he says.
But Lucas’s move may have to wait until his lodgers have found a new place.
Opera tenor Alfie Boe, 37, his actress wife Sarah and their two-year-old daughter Grace are staying with the comedian while they search for a home in London.
Alfie met Matt when they co-starred in the 25th anniversary performance of Les Miserables.
‘My wife is American and we lived in New York for a couple of years,’ says Alfie.
‘Now we’re looking for a two-bedroom house in Putney or Chiswick – somewhere we can give our daughter some greenery to grow up in.’

Beatles drummer Ringo Starr, 70, and his wife Barbara, 63, are selling their three-bedroom holiday home in Colorado, America, for £2.9 million. The 3,200 sq ft wood cabin that they bought in 1990 is set among 16 acres and looks out over the Roaring Fork River.
Joshua Saslove, of local estate agents Joshua & Co, describes the property as a ‘ranch-ette’ and says the reason the Starrs are selling up is because they simply don’t spend enough time there.
