It’s adios to those sweet dreams of Spain, Annie

Annie Lennox is selling the two townhouses she bought three years ago in the Andalucian town of Olvera.

The singer bought them with a friend as a development project in 2007, but her agent says Spain’s economic crisis scuppered the plans.

One is under offer for £26,000 – even though it has holes in the roof, damp walls and uneven floors.

‘It’s on one of the prettiest streets of the old town. One of the last renovation properties near the church and 12th Century castle, it has the potential to be an attractive two-bed holiday home,’ says Zoe Males of Olvera Properties, which is selling the house.

The other house is still on sale at £32,000.

HOW NOT TO BUY A FLAT…

Actor and comedian Dan Clark has bought a one-bedroom flat for £365,000 – the very same day he spotted it.

The star of BBC3’s How Not To Live Your Life has been renting in South London and the flat in Belsize Park, North-West London, is his first purchase.

‘I was filming there with Noel Fielding when I looked in an estate agents,’ says Dan, 34.

‘I found the flat and bought it within the day.’ He hopes to finish renovating it before his live tour in April.

‘It needs a new bathroom and kitchen before I move in. I guess buying a house means I’m finally an adult, which is scary.’

Boxer Amir Khan has joked he’s ‘like a woman’ after having an annexe built at the back of his home in Bolton to house his vast collection of clothes and shoes.

‘It’s a walk-in wardrobe and is probably double the size of my bathroom. I like everything tidy and organised,’ says the 23-year-old light welterweight world champion.

Two of boyband JLS have found out about the reality of property-owning after their recent purchases.

Oritse Williams has added high-security to his flat in Fulham. ‘I had fans trying to climb over the wall so I got a gate and intercom,’ he said.

And Aston Merrygold has tough visitors’ rules: ‘Shoes off – and no one’s allowed to touch anything.’
